Market Research:

There are many TV out there, a few of them being in the comedy genre which is what my TV show, Impractical Rednecks, is in. A few of these shows include: Crazyhead; League Of Their Own; Drunk History; Comedy Central At The Comedy Store and Impractical Jokers UK. Here are a few things about the shows that I have listed:

Crazyhead:

Crazyhead is a comedy horror show that is broadcasted on the channel E4 each Wednesday at 9pm. The show is about two women named Amy and Raquel who "attempt to navigate their way trough the choppy waters of their early twenties whilst simulaneously kicking the ass of some seriously gnarly demons." League Of Their Own:

League Of Their Own is a "sports-based comedy panel game hoested by Gavin and Stacey star James Corden and features Andrew Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp as team captains and John Bishop and Georgie Thompson were regular panelists for the first four series alongside two weekly guests. Jack Whitehall joined the cast as a regular panellist from the fifth series onwards." Drunk History:

Drunk History is "the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an every-changing cast of actors and comedians, travel across the country to present the rih tales that eery cit in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent." (taken from http://www.cc.com/shows/drunk-history) It is broadcasted on Comedy Central each Tuesday.

Comedy Central At The Comedy Store:

"Comedy Central At The Comedy Store features the best in up-and-coming and established stand up comedians performing in front of a live audience at the world-famous Comedy Store in London." (taken from http://www.openmike.co.uk/comedy-central-at-the-comedy-store/) It is roadcasted each Wednesday on Comedy Central as 10:30pm.

Impractical Jokers UK:

Impractical Jokers UK is "four best friends competeing in a series of challenes, turning everyday situations into outrageously funny and embarrassing tests by breaking all the rules of British politeness." (taken from http://www.channel5.com/show/impractical-jokers-uk) It's broadcasted on Channel 5 each Saturday at 11:30 pm.

Audience Research:

The audience for my TV show is 16+ yera olds of any gender and to anyone who live in the USA, UK and Australia. This audience will consume a website and a tour. The website includes things such as the times for episodes and a brief description about that episode and the chance to watch the trailers and leave their own reviews about the episodes and what they would like to see next. The tour would mean that they would have the chance to see the pranks taking place live and potentiall join in with them. This allows people to get a view for what it would be like working on the show and they would be able to see the production that would go into it.

Production Research:

There are many roles that we would need for this show. To start off we would need the pranksters. These will be the heart of the show and they, alongside the producers, will plan the pranks and the locations that they will be filmed and the potential "victims" so to say for the pranks. There would then be the camera crew who would make sure that everything would be filmed without the person being pranked knowing that they are being recorded but make sure that the footage is of quality to be able to show. Another member of the crew would be a sound technichian. This means that the sound would be clear for people to hear and there would be a specialist on set so that nothing goes wrong with the sound as it is one of the most crucial parts alongside the video. Lights may also be needed if working on a set so there would need to be a lighting crew so that there would be no damages and so that they wold be set correctly for the video being filmed.

For equipment, the main things that would be needed are cameras and mics and these could be in the form of DSLRs and Lapel mics. The DSLRs make for a standard camera but creats footage of high quality. They are easy to record with and this is helpful when on location as they are a lot easier to move with. When on set, larger cameras can be used for more steadier footage but they don't allow for a lot of movement. 

The show will be set both in a studio and on location. Locations allow for more freedom and more people to be able to prank. However, being in a studio means that people can't go far and visitors may also be tricked meaning more footage for the show.
